The heavy hitter in the NuWell Family; the NuWell-110 is the big brother of the best-selling household well cleaner on the market, the NuWell-100. Just like the NuWell-100, this well cleaner breaks down mineral buildup at the source. Using highly concentrated acid granules the 110 cleans the entire well in contact with standing water. Unlike muriatic acid, which eats metal and over time destroys your well; its specially formulated Sulfamic Acid is safe to use on all well materials. Specially created for medium to large diameter wells, this potent well cleaner can be used on your personal, irrigation, or municipal wells. Designed with the everyday user in mind, the pH color indicator makes it easy for anyone to see if the water is still acidic or not.

Note: DO NOT LEAVE the chemical in the well for more than 72hrs. Doing so could allow the minerals to solidify in the well and damage the well significantly.

APPLICATION
Nu-Well 110 Granular Acid is used in well cleaning operations as a granular product introduced at the wellhead and dissolved and pumped into the well as a liquid. The granular form can settle throughout the water column providing a simple application, however, for improved cleaning, it is recommended to treat the well as follows:

  1. Determine how much NuWell you need. The table to the right provides recommended dosages for general well cleaning. The amount of acid needed will depend on the degree of mineral scaling in the well. Underdosing your well will not provide the desired results. If you are using an additive like NuWell310 to remove iron bacteria or counteract gypsum in your well, you will also need to have that ready to add at this time.
  2. Collect about 40% of your well volume in water to be used later on.
  3. Open your well top and determine there is enough room for the Nuwell to descend below your pump if you are leaving it in place.
  4. Pre-hydrate the Nuwell by mixing it with approx 1/1 ratio of water to nuwell and mixing it into a batter-like slurry before pouring them into your well. This will help it to not stick together and more quickly descend into the well. You will also mix your optional additive into this solution.
  5. After an hour or so, pour the remaining 40% volume of water into the well. This water will help push the Nuwell through the screen and clean the soil formation as well.
  6. After a few hours, begin periodic agitation of the well. The mixing process will increase the efficiency of the treatment. This can be done by simply recirculating your pump, dropping small amounts of dry ice into the well, or using a well developer or well scrub tool.
  7. After 24-48hrs, extract the NuWell treated water from the well and neutralize it if needed. The Nuwell 100 and 110 have a pH color indicator premixed into them, so you can determine if the water is still acidic as you extract it.  DO NOT LEAVE the chemical in the well for more than 72hrs and NEVER neutralize the acid while it is still in the well. Doing so could allow the minerals to solidify in the well and damage the well significantly.
  8. Continue to flush the well until the water runs clear or you get a neutral reading from a pH test strip (not provided).

NOTE: When possible, obtain information on construction and performance history and submit samples for laboratory analysis before application to determine if dosage modifications are warranted. Discharge the acid solution from the well, neutralize it on the surface and dispose of it in accordance with the appropriate regulations.

FAQ:
Q:
What kind of pipe can the NuWell be used with?

A: NuWell 100 is safe to use on all well materials. Whether you are using a PVC pipe or Steel, The NuWell 100 only attacks the minerals and leaves your casing like new.

Q: I am getting a lot of foam or bubbles in my well after I added the NuWell 100, is this normal?
A: Yes, this is perfectly normal. NuWell produces Carbon Dioxide gas while it attacks the mineral deposits in your well. If you get excessive foam, you may need to add water to the well and a second treatment may be needed to finish the cleaning process.

Q: Can I use NuWell 100 with bleach to clean and disinfect at the same time?
A: NO! DO NOT DO THIS! Choline mixed with NuWell 100 produces harmful off-gases that can be dangerous in confined spaces. Allow sufficient time between your cleaning and disinfection treatments.

Q: Will this remove the minerals coming out of my well and into my home?
A: No. This is not a water treatment method. This cleaner is designed to simply remove the scaling and mineral buildup inside your well.

Q: After treatment, what do I do with the water in the well?

A: NuWell 100 is a mild acid with no lasting effects on the environment. It can, however, kill plant life in concentrated doses when left at a low pH level. We recommend using our pH Acidic Water neutralizer to bring the discharged water up to a level safe for plant life. We also recommend contacting your local government agencies for additional guidance and restrictions in your area.

Q: Can I discharge the water into my septic system?
A: Because the solution is still very acidic, doing so will most likely upset or even distroy your septic system's healthy ecosystem. So this is not advised.

Q: Can I run this through my home to clean my pipes after treating the well?
A: The fine particles being discharged from the well, will most likely clog any home filtration system you have in place and or all the screens you have on each sink and shower fixture. So please don't do this.
